Common roof problems in the area
Bury and Prestwich see the same mix of weather as the rest of Greater Manchester: wet spells, strong winds and cold snaps. Over time that can loosen tiles, wear lead flashing and stress flat roof coverings. A damp patch on a bedroom ceiling, water marks in the loft, or a tile sitting crooked after a windy night are all good reasons to get the roof checked before the next heavy rain.
How a typical repair visit works
When we come out, we look at the area you are worried about and the rest of the roof around it. We explain what we find in plain English and quote for the work needed. If a small repair will do the job, we will say so. If a larger repair or a new roof would be better value, we will explain why and leave the decision with you. There is no pressure and no payment until the job is complete.
Flat roofs on extensions
Many homes in Bury and Prestwich have flat roofs on kitchens, bathrooms, garages or dormers. Standing water, splits, bubbles and loose edge trims are common warning signs. We repair flat roofs where that makes sense, and we can also strip back and rebuild from a sound timber deck when the covering has reached the end of its life.
